How to Choose a POS System in Kenya
By Zeni POS Team · 8 min read
A step-by-step POS buying process for Kenyan SMEs, from demo to written quote.
Choosing a POS system in Kenya is easier if you ignore feature fireworks and run a short process: map the counter, test the two failure modes (no internet, M-Pesa rush), then lock a written price.
Before the demo
Write down business type, number of tills, branches, whether you scan barcodes, and who may discount. Export or photograph your product list. Decide if you already own a printer and scanner.
On the demo
Sell a real item, take a test M-Pesa flow, turn on airplane mode, and open inventory. Ask who you WhatsApp when a cashier is locked out. Ask what is not included: hardware, extra branches, data import size.
Zeni POS demos follow that script. You get a Kenya-shilling proposal afterwards — not a surprise invoice after go-live.
